Saw the Spinners perform this in concert when I was in college. The entire arena crowd was dead silent throughout the performance of this sacred, moving song. By the time the song was finishing, there was not a dry eye to found in the entire Westbury Music Fair. The Spinners took us all to church, using this song as a holy vehicle.
