God bless that old guy at the end, he looked like he was having a lot of fun! I can only imagine the stories he had to tell about the old Atlantic City in it's heyday-the mobsters, the movie stars, the celebrities and just about the old days in general. To talk to him would have been a real honor! Rest in peace old timer, and thanks for the bit of fun at the end. :-)

New name here, same old Ayleid King, lol. True that about Mike Mesaros having some of The Stranglers as his influence. He always remained the mysterious figure in the band, never spoke, never gave interviews, but in it's own way it has everyone remembering him as the one and only. And in retrospect, that's good enough for me. And yes, the Smithereens are my fellow New Jerseyeans, and definitely do our state proud, unlike other images we live with thanks to rude people and TV's Jersey Shore.

I'm glad the Smithereens make you proud to come from New Jersey.Regarding Mike Mesaros.Have you ever noticed or have you heard who his bass influences are.I was always noticed how he sort of gave a nod to JJ.Burnel of the Stranglers.I admire both Mike and JJ as players.

That's neat man! Mike Mesaros was the reason I got into bass in the first place, and Blood And Roses is one of my fave songs to play to, as is Top Of The Pops. Sad that Mesaros isn't with the lineup anymore, but he definitely lent some dimension to the band, as well as some mystique, as he never seemed to say anything or give an interviews. I know he did some work with 50's icon Dion awhile back, lending his bass skills to the band. The Smithereens make me proud to be from New Jersey!

I absolutely love The Smithereens.I saw them on the Smithereens 11 tour at the Diamond Club in Toronto.I've got to say they blew me away.I was right under Mike Mesaros bass set-up and was deaf for three days afterwards haha.A hugely underated band whom I reckon should have been massive.I love their diversity and their guitar sound is second to none.My favourite song is a Girl Like You.It's an absolute classic.
