Blue Skies Bring Tears (version electrique)
MACHINA II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music (2000)
Written by Billy Corgan
Performed by The Smashing Pumpkins
Lyrics:
Love run the silent horses
Suffer the shell shocked houses
Wring dry the salty tears of sailors and their lovers
Ring for the silent movies
Kiss of the twilight cry
Bleach blond the highwire groupies sucking up the tide
[For the life of me, the first two lines are unintelligible. If you can help me, please do.]
Sift through the Sunday speeches delivered on the lone
Raindrops, the creaky messes
Wind blows the temples down
Blood fills the exit tunnels shrieking out of town
It's about time
It's about drawing near
Blue skies bring tears
Blue skies bring tears
Unleash the Armageddon
Draw down the hungry crowd
Kneeling for the final verdict, judges draw you near
Left for your [?]
Let fly the locust cry
Uncork the hidden forces amassing to our life
It's about time
It's about your fear
Blue skies bring tears
Blue skies bring tears
I need time
Too far, too soft
Too far, too long
Blue skies bring tears
Until I fall down
Shake loose the huddled masses
Spit out the urgent armies
Crept to the faded roses, broken sea shell bones
Fire all your deadly soldiers
Shoot down the skeletal bells
I know it all leads to crisis, but doesn't go through hell
Blue skies bring tears
(I honestly can't vouch for the authenticity of these lyrics. Billy's singing is often not very understandable, so what I have here is what I can best make out. All the lyrics for this song found online were only semi-accurate at best, completely wrong at worst. Even the clearly-heard parts were full of errors, so I had to rely on my own ears. If anyone has a definitive set of lyrics for this song, I would love for you to send it to me/link me to it. Any help you can give me is appreciated, actually. Thanks in advance!)
