I am a Searchers fan. I believe they are/were better than the Beatles. I first went saw them at the Iron Door in 1962. I drink in the Cross keys pub(if you know the significance). I still go to watch both versions of the group. I belive MPS are more in keeping with the original sound.

Well leona, I see you are classed as USA based, so tell me how often and when do you see both groups?

N0, Like Mick Jagger is the sound of the Stones, Reg Presley is the sound of the Troggs, etc,etc. So if you want to hear the voice of the Searchers( After Tony Jackson) and the original 12 string lead guitar then it has to be MPS.

It may well be Mike Pender and his backing band as opposed to McNally, Allen and there backing band. He may have an ego, but he was the sound and voice of the Searchers.

my younger brother loves the Searches, i don't get it... like all those 'British Invaders' 'coverin' songs... get back to the ORIGs> The Drifters!!! ....yet,i do un-.... hey,read Oliver Sacks "Musicophphia"....generationial imprinting?... bet ya DON'T LIKE Perry Como as much as i do! rave ON, expand ur musical horizons! best,

small outfit, great sound - we always strive to copy that, including the entertainment , still got quite a ways to go (Work in Progress, a band from Mexico City / check out youtube or google video for clips)
