Sacred Mushroom -- led by future Pure Prairie League member Larry Goshorn (guitar/vocals) and featuring brother Danny Goshorn (vocals) -- were a short-lived rock/blues quintet based in Cincinnati, OH. Their efforts coalesce on this, the band's self-titled debut (and only) long-player. The album contains a blend of proficient originals as well as a pair of well-chosen cover tunes, such as the blues standard "Mean Old World" and the Kinks' "I'm Not Like Everybody Else." While their name conjures images of late-'60s psychedelic or acid rock, Sacred Mushroom's roots were decidedly more bluesy than trippy.

Have known Larry Goshorn during this period. I was 18 yo and hung out at the "Mushroom House"Larry and his brother Tim became friends over the years. Larry recently had open heart surgery but is doing well.Such a nice person, singer, and guitar player.

The greatest sixties cover. Unfortunately music wasn't psychedelic at all but bluesy. One of the lesser albums of the era, best avoided.

Still my favorite version, more soulful nice, guitar work. Probably because I saw them do it live so many times.

My group "Band X" from west Michigan played with "Sacred Mushroom" in Cincinnati in '68. Their live stuff (at least that day) was more power-rock than this song. Actually, I was surprised hearing the soft side of the band on this track.

This is a good version of a Kinks song, as pointed out here before, but my favorite version is by Chocolate Watch Band.

I'm not in the business of correcting , but depending on your own perception, I guess its open to interpretation. I am assuming The statement reflects the trends of those around them. The styles. The common ways people act. adolescent years? when conformance means everything, the right shoes, haircut, etc. there are and has almost always been more females then males.. never half and half.. We may not all think in the same manner but we all feel similar pressures.try Collective consciousness
