Uno de los primeros singles de esta gran banda Australiana de finales de los 70 y principios de los 80, muy difícil de conseguir.

In case anyone is wondering, The bass is a Fender Bass VI. Fender's been making re-issues of those lately (2013), I now have a Pawn Shop one (They usually go for $799 though I got mine with a hard case for close to that price) and it's a nice bass, I can play it as a baritone too if I put baritone strings on it.

The chord that the second guitar is playing before the riff is an A or a chord starting on A. The guitar note played over the lyric "Tears" in "Tomorrow's Tears" is a B.

Austin, do you have any more tabs for the Riptides?

I'm not sure of the whole song but the two opening chords on the Rickenbacker are D and B. The riff played after that is A/B A F# A/B A F# A/B A F# D D D/E E/F# A F# D. Slashes = Slide up to next note. There's a tiny bit of bending the string involved, Too.

The Riptides were one of the very best .. but also one of the most under-recognised .. Aussie rock bands of the 80s. This early release in their repetroire has that gritty, gutsy driving beat and guitar style which very-much characterises their signature -sound. This song, PLUS "Eternal Flame", were 2 of their biggest hits & most stylish compositions. Anyone out there who can put up their great song "Eternal Flame" on YT ? It'll be worth it. Great posting, NEWAVERS !!

What kind of a bass is the singer playing? I notice it has a whammy bar and apparently it has 6 strings.
