through terrorAnd in the darkened streets the painOh how I long to find some solaceIn my mind I curse the strainSo farewell you streets of sorrowAnd farewell you streets of painNo I'll not return to feel more sorrowNor to see more young men slainThere were six men in BirminghamIn Guildford there's fourThat were picked up and torturedAnd framed by the lawAnd the filth got promotionBut they're still doing timeFor being Irish in the wrong placeAnd at the wrong timeIn Ireland they'll put you away in the mazeIn England they'll keep you for seven long daysGod help you if ever you're caught on these shoresThe coppers need someoneAnd they walk through that doorYou'll be counting yearsFirst five, then tenGrowing old in a lonely hellRound the yard and the stinking cellFrom wall to wall, and back againA curse on the judges, the coppers and screwsWho tortured the innocent, wrongly accusedFor the price of promotionAnd justice to sellMay the judged be their judges when they rot down in hellMay the whores of the empire lie awake in their bedsAnd sweat as they count out the sins on their headsWhile over in Ireland eight more men lie deadKicked

So sad to hear of Gerry Conlon's untimely death, RIP. Thanks to the Pogues for their efforts in highlighting the miscarriages of justice in this song many years ago.

Gerry Conlon 1955-2014 R.I.PBritish Injustice Victim. In the truest sense of the words, "Freedom Fighter"Contrary to common belief the Brit Govt did not ban the Sex Pistols, they did't ban Frankie Goes to Hollywood or Rod Stewart. The BBC choose to ban those songs but the BRIT GOVERNMENT has only ever banned 1 song from the airways & here it is here.It magically became available the week after the innocent Guilford 4, Maguire 7 & The B/Ham 6 where freed. 100's of years served in foreign prisons. Some died in British Jails before their innocence was gained. SHAME ON YOU.............

An Englishman & an Irishman, here! Getting drunk out of our fucking heads together!!! We both agree how fucked up what happened to them, sinply for being Irish., & being at the wrong place at the wrong fucking time!!! My Irish friend is very passionate about this, as he is SO demonstrating the fact!!!!
