When playing highly repetitive celtic-style music, the chords and counter-notes used by the non-melody instruments can make or break the piece. Their choices can make the piece repetitively boring as hell or filled with such an interesting drive you can't help but want to keep playing/listening, never mind the fact that technically the melody just did the same thing 5 times in a row.This song falls in the latter category. This is what I want to do when playing celtic music - the catch is finding people to play it with, the fact I'm playing a melody instrument, and the fact that my understanding of chords is so nonexistent I can't help people come up with other chords to try.
