This was more of a mainstream pop/rock (for the time) sound, and not the symphonic-influenced sound the Moody Blues would have in later years.

For some reason, some clips of "Top Of The Pops" do exist from 1964 to 1967, but not full shows.My guess is that the BBC made kinescope recordings for the musical guests, who got only their segments, which might be why no full shows exist prior to December of 1967, but some individual segments do.

go now by the moody blues is a classic song that was in the charts in jan 1965 when i was a school starter and was a song i used to whistle in class! also remarkable Denny Laine in suit & tie , and short hair!

Saw them perform this at the Marquee Club in Soho in 1964 or 1965 -- was anyone there that night? -- Mick Jagger, taking in the competition, standing at the back of room (very small space at the time). If anybody remembers the dates of their performance at the Marquee would be grateful.
