I thought it was time to dip into the Motown collection, so here's one from 1969. The Monitors only released one single on Motown in the US, and none at all in the UK, so this track comes from their 1969 album Greetings!...We're The Monitors.

The married Monitors lived upstairs from a friend of mine in Minneapolis. They were very talented people but, alas, Motown seldom gave what it considered secondary groups the material, production and promotion they needed. They were used mostly to open for acts such as the Supremes on the road. The amazing (and sad) part is EVERY group Motown signed was talent and every group could have become first rank, but it just did not work out that way usually.9 years ago

Huge sound at Wigan in the first year, there was a lot of snobbery about playing Motown in those days. So apart from this, Debbie Dean, The Dalton boys and a couple of others, that was all the Motown you heard at an allnighter.10 years ago
