Just stumbled onto this video today while searching for Rattlesnake Kisses. I didn't know this video even existed. I remember buying A Tale Of Gin right when it was released. I think that was 1995 maybe? This along with Electric Angels are my two favorite bands and two favorite albums of all time.

This is by far the best album ever recorded. It's Charles Bukowski and John Fante in tune. This particular song is the best song I've heard that didn't hit the charts, "Behind every man is the one who let him down" is one of their best phrases I think, after "People remind of the Wizard of Oz..." of course. That is the best lyric I've ever heard.

Back in the day,the year of this albums release,a magazine I used to buy (Powerplay? maybe?) reviewed this album and gave it 11/10. I went and ordered it thru mail order (pre internet days!) and have loved the album ever since.Whenever I had a new lady friend around (hey! back then I was kinda slimmer etc) I'd throw the cd on,lights out,and,well, the rest is history....
