The Lively Ones were an American instrumental surf rock band active in Southern California in the 1960s. They played live mostly in California and Arizona.

Their 1963 hit "Surf Rider" (written by Nokie Edwards from The Ventures) was used in the final sequence of Quentin Tarantino's film Pulp Fiction.

The Lively Ones were known as the Surfmen in the early part of 1962. They recorded for Del-Fi records with production from Bob Keane. They recorded mostly cover songs, but there were a few originals.

This was recorded in 1961 or 62, remember these musicians were in their late teens/early 20s. Listen to the way the sax solo is played with such feeling, just incredible.

It's Mancini. The Zionist lyrics, repugnant as obscene (and theologically oblivious) as they are, belong to lay theologian Pat Boone, proving that the pernicious strain in American religious sentimentality goes back as far as mid-century. Good tune though!

This song is from the film of the same name which talks about the founding of Israel in the 1940s and the problems that occurred along with that
