I think that Simba tried so hard to be like his father that he blinded himself a lot of the time. While Mufasa was staunch and protective he was also reasonable and caring. Where as Simba acted selfish with his disciplining. Amazing that even when he was a king he was still little Simba who could have done with a little teaching from Mufasa

To be honest I didn't care much for Simba in this movie. I mean everything he did to Kovu kinda goes against everything he taught Kiara at the beginning about them all being one. But in his defense I guess he's just trying to do the best for his kingdom

Can I just say, recently I was going through the film's script (don't judge, people do that) and until I saw it mentioned in the stage directions, I never noticed Kovu's reflection changing to Scar's. Huh. Maybe I was focusing more on the lyrics.
