Also to mention the composer, Howard Shore and the vocalist, Billy Boyd

Lyrics:

I saw the light fade from the sky

On the wind I heard a sigh

As the snowflakes cover my fallen brothers

I will say this last goodbye

Night is now falling

So ends this day

The road is now calling

And I must away

Over hill and under tree

Through lands where never light has shone

By silver streams that run down to the sea

Under cloud, beneath the stars

Over snow one winter’s morn

I turn at last to paths that lead home

And though where the road then takes me

I cannot tell

We came all this way

But now comes the day

To bid you farewell

Many places I have been

Many sorrows I have seen

But I don’t regret

Nor will I forget

All who took the road with me

Night is now falling

So ends this day

The road is now calling

And I must away

Over hill and under tree

Through lands where never light has shone

By silver streams that run down to the sea

To these memories I will hold

With your blessing I will go

To turn at last to paths that lead home

And though where the road then takes me

I cannot tell

We came all this way

But now comes the day

To bid you farewell

I bid you all a very fond farewell.

I get needlessly emotional when I hear this song, because a gmod server I'd been playing on for about 8 months with a great community and wonderful staff, when the owner shut it down it was really abrupt and I went onto the forums after school and there was a description of why he was shutting it down and this song was playing and I got onto the server for the last time before shutdown and we all said our goodbyes and it was genuinely saddening to know that I would never see these wonderful people ever again.

I truely believe that some of Peter Jackson's thoughts are expressed in this song. He did an awesome job through the years bringing to life Tolkien's middle earth.

To all people who think the Hobbit is the last time you will see Middle Earth on the big screen just remember the English copyright laws state that 70 years (Under the 1995 regulations) after the death of the author the material is free to use. The debate will be if JRR is the true author of the Silmarillion/Lost Tales (The only real way to make more Movies/TV shows). JRR may have written the material but his son Christopher finished and published both works so its up for debate who actually "wrote it". So lets do some math.If JRR Wrote it:Died in 1973 so its 27 years to 20002000+43( The remaining # of years) = The year 2043 (Best Case Scenario)If Christopher Wrote it:Still alive but 90 years old (lets assume he will die within 5 years, kind of rude I know)2015,2020 +70 = Between the years of 2085 and 2090 (Worse Case Scenario)I'm not a legal expert so i'm sure this will be debated endlessly in courts. But in the end money talks so i'm sure we will be seeing one much soonerafter all in the words of JK Rowling “There's always room for a story that can transport people to another place.”

Excellent song for my favorite book -- you did it justice, Billy Boyd.
