On this day in 1971 {April 4th} "Want Ads" by the Honey Cone entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 at position #79; nine weeks later on June 6th, 1971 it peaked at #1 {for 1 week} and spent 16 weeks on the Top 100...And on May 23rd, 1971 it also reached #1 {for 3 non-consecutive weeks} on Billboard's R&B Singles chart...Between 1969 and 1972 the LA-formed trio had nine hits on the R&B Singles chart; five made the Top 10 with two reaching #1, their other #1 record was "Stick-Up" {for 2 weeks} in 1971...The trio's lead singer, Edna Wright, is the sister of Darlene Love...

The 45 should have a sentence that says "recorded 1971". Knowing so much of my music, I wasn't born yet :-(
