I didn't know that Gene Puerlig died. I'm so sorry! It's my myth

When others were screaming at Elvis singing 'Love Me Tender,' I was basking in the harmonies of 'Tenderly' by the 'Hi Lo's.' They are my favorite group as a kid and will be till the grave. No-one can convince me that I can't take them with me either.

Yes I love this group too much. In Brazil there is the group Os Cariocas who have the same harmony if you love this group I highly recommend Os Cariocas if you love samba bossa nova music. Also the Manhattan Transfer Have been incredible for years

@ukbentley Thank you for not pretending, like so many others, that good music and musicians don't exist anymore.

This is nice, but not as nice as Jimmy Dorsey band version from 1937 with Bob Eberly handling the vocal (don't settle for Sammy Kaye version, though, in fact, it's unlistenable, so avoid that like the plague).

The Best of the bests; the fabulous Gene Puerling the greatest vocal arranger ever born, unfortunately left us last year but his legacy will remain forever!!

Great comment! I agree, This music was back in the day when good music was popular and popular music was good. You could pick that stuff up off the streets, just look at the many groups out there. Alas, what do we have today?
