Good song from one of the most underrated and underappreciated classic rock bands.

I'm from Minnesota in the US and Burton Cummings is incomparable, the best rock and roll voice ever, period. The band was awesome also. According to the excellent new liner notes on the new remaster, #10 recording was really a strange scene.

Listen to Bill's creative bass lines during the verses and the piano solo. Unfortunately, this guy was overshadowed by Geddy Lee, Peter Mars Cowling, and Dave Myles. I mean, I love all three of those guys, but this is stuff that people like me are listening for and manage to catch, while other guys are just listening to the guitar solo and the drum riffs.

Man I love this song! The Bachman years produced a lot of great music but Kurt Winter raised the bar. His contribution to the band was phenomenal!

Well, since Burton was singing on great records before Bruce Springsteen was known by anyone, I'd say maybe it's the other way around....Actually, if I were to compare Burton (as a singer) to an American contemporary of his, I would go more with John Fogerty....but Burton was before HIM too! In short, Burton is Burton. Canadian, American, British, whatever! Nobody compares.

The Guess Who were greater than the sum of their parts. Despite the discord that existed in the group at this time, they are a solid unit with a unique sound. Burton never sounded better than when he was in the group. They must have challenged each other. Kurt Winter was a big part of that. Good old, right down the center of the road, Rock & Roll. Long live GW!

To be honest with you, I almost can't blame him.

Burton says he'll never accept the hall of fame so long as the Fake guess who is out there. Bloody shame..

bands/singers/songwriters in those days (60s and 70s era) played and sang with passion...can't say the same for some of the music today...this is one of the most beautiful songs by g w.

What a gorgeous song! It's hard to seriously knock Burton Cummings' work. Simply brilliant singer, songwriter, piano player and performer. And the rest of the band ain't too bad, either!

@jeremydmccann Both Foghat and The Guess Who deserve nomination into the Rock and Roll Hall of Shame in CLE. They ought to be ashamed of themselves there. The Drive-By Truckers also ought to be in there. Probably need to buy your way in.

Two years since the last comment on this link.. another round of RNR hall o' shite with such enduring "talents" as Donna Summers, Joan Jett, the Beastie Boys, J Geils Band. Everything about this is wrong
