The sixth track from the Guess Who's 1968 LP, 'Wheatfield Soul'.

'A Wednesday in Your Garden' is one of the greatest songs on the album. A sole composition by Bachman, the song features jazz chords, perhaps inspired by The Zombies' usage of the same sound.

Composer(s): R. Bachman

Performer(s): The Guess Who

Producer(s): Jack Richardson

One of their best! Actually saw them perform this gem live (2/70). Shows off Burton's great voice as it easily goes up and down the scales. Would have been a good match for the movie "Girl Interrupted". Burton is one of Canada's best treasures ever!

I would say that the top four albums of the Guess Who for me would be this one, Share the Land, American Woman, and Canned Wheat. Most of the others are worth listening too as well, at least the ones without Dominic Triano. "At the Paramount" is very good for a live album, it has the most messed up version of "America Woman" I've ever heard and an extended version of "Pain Train".

i love all the subtext and the entendres. it's so clear what this song is really about and it's couched in other words. this is why i love real rock music. i hate the crap of today.
