If unfamiliar, The Fanged Robot is the solo project of one Robby Cosenza where Robby himself takes a turn at center stage. Perhaps a bit of a reluctant frontman, Robby's usually known for laying down the beat at one time or another with a slew of fantastic bands like The Scourge of the Sea, These United States, Vandaveer, Warren Byrom & Fabled Canelands. With The Fanged Robot, Robby sings, plays guitar, and writes the lyrics. His playing is percussive and driving. Go figure from a drummer, right? His lyrics are witty and irreverent and the music is just fun. I think it's fair to say that Robby's personality comes through quite clearly through his music.

We met at the gazebo at Woodland Park. Robby is flanked here by fellow friends and bandmates. The Fanged Robot perform "Mover/Shaker" and "Stop That Noise." The band has been working on a full album at Shangri-la Studios with Producer Duane Lundy and should be released sometime this year.
