What a comparison that I never considered until reading some of these post...The Exies or Nirvana? having grown up in the Nirvana age & owning most of thier cds can surely relate to the influence that they obviously had sound wise on The Exies...but that is it...lyric substance did not exist with Nirvana...Thats what I like about the The Exies...for the most part their lyrics are so right on in many ways & actually have substance & meaning well beyond Nirvana & other music genres (pop/rap)...

i dont have anything against the exies... but that doesnt sound like kurt, and they dont sound like nirvana if they were still around... the only thing there voice have in common is a kind of rasp, but not the way they sound. thats pretty well it. and the bands have a different style, even if nirvana was still around they wouldnt sound like this. listen to nirvana beeswax or something, thats nirvana haha. this isnt.

@montanalegal1 Wow, I just thought the same thing. There is a sort of a documentary about how Nirvana made Nevermind, and you can hear a part where Kurt Cobains sing (nearly screams) Smells Like teen Spirit and this is so reminding me to that.
