"Stop" was probably recorded in 1971 or 1973.

Taken from the double-re-issue-album "Sun Secrets - Stop" (released 1974, 1975).

Lyrics:

Stop what you´re doin´, baby come a little closer to me.

Tell me all your troubles, tell me ev´rything;

I´ll give you sympathy.

You´re not supposed to say no,

but when you do,

I can´t control myself (control myself)

You´re not supposed to refuse;

my love for you will make you satisfied sleep,

Lord, Oh (come on, baby)(satisfied)

Stop feelin´ sorry, don´t you know

I´ll give you anything you say.

(What I say)

Look inside my lonely room and tell me

do you really dig my lonely ways.

You´re not supposed....................

Dream on, dream on, dream on...........

Stop it, baby!

You´re not supposed to say no but when you do,

I get upset inside.

You´re not supposed to say no when do

I can´t control (myself, myself, myself)

Hey! You better stop it, baby!

Super cut, talented group of performers all the way through. Sorry to have heard the drummer is doing a stretch and has been for a very long time... that's why he's virtually disappeared on record. He is teaching others behind the wall, I've been told and those folks have brought his story out. Yes, this version of the Eric Burdon Band did appear on "In Concert." I went out and bought the cassette when it was released as a result. I still have a copy of Sun Secrets on cassette; it is my third such copy; one I obtained in Europe. I wonder if Eric would allow someone to post the "In Concert" performance on Youtube now that he and Capital Records have long since reconciled over the series of recording sessions released as Sun Secrets and Stop.

Julian I LOVE THIS SONG.... I've never seen any film footage of the EVB Band doing this song. Do you (or anyone else) know of any footage of the band performing this song?
