Oh yes, the loudness war is just an opinion of mine! Even though NIN released 2 versions of their latest album to combat the Loudness War! I am conducting myself in a polite sagacious manner, with all due respect & lack of profanity. I would sacrifice my 'image' for the welfare of music any day. Anything is worth the price of protecting music. Having an open mind where War is concerned? I think it's you that needs to re-adjust his opinion.

If you have to explain why something's bad and refer a video, then it's probably more of an opinion. Not that I disagree entirely with your statements about music, but you seem pretty pretentious in the way you're conducting your argument... though I couldn't imagine how you'd conduct your argument any other way, maybe with more open-ness.

@therealkindle, and as a musician, and knowing something of it, there is no bar, or "should haves" or rules to it, much as there are no rules to any other art form. You paint what is in your heart, be that loud or soft fuzzy or clear, and you play the same. So yes I will agree that for the most part one guitar is quieter than two, I will say who cares. The artists played it how they played it, and I think it is a textured layered passionate piece that is inspiring.

You don't need to know much about music to realise that if you were in a room with 2 guitarists, it would sound louder with 2 & quieter with 1 playing. Yes? So this track should start off a LOT quieter. But it's just as loud with 3 or 4 sounds at the start as it is with a plethora of sounds during the finalé. Hence "reduced Dynamic Range". They think the louder a song is, the more it will stand out. But it's destroying music. Look up a short video "The Loudness War". Please help save music. :(

I belive the feeling of all the different sounds rising to the sufrace was ntentional. I'm not one to know to much about music, but I find that it helps add a feeling of almost awe and magesty to the song

Unfortunately the compression that everyone adheres to now during the mastering process has reduced this track's dynamic range, so no. I can't! Ólafur Arnalds works with about 180 tracks per song in his recent album, but that doesn't make it more "wonderful". During the end of this track, it becomes a mess of distortion & clipping where every sound fights to surface. Making a record louder is not creative. Maybe my standards are higher than yours? Because this is quite a linear basic song to me!

I think you're wrong. I have discovered an unbelievable amount of music, all creative, original and artistic in small ways that matter or in ways that consume the entirety of music. Riverman may be a nice song to you, it may or may not be to others. The difference in style between Nick Drake and The End Of The Ocean is huge. Don't generalise all music to be "Lazy and Loud. It certainly isn't. Can you hear all the wonderful things going on in this music?
