Not sure if someone may have posted it up already but I searched and couldn't find it. Sung by Ciaran and a fantastic version.

Dear LordOfNumenor, its certainly a pleasure to hear my cousin Ciaran sing this tune. I'm Rory Fallon, my mother was indeed a Bourke and her mother was a fighting IRA member. Her name was Molly Bourke, after her husband died she was a Bourke-Moran. They ran the finest shop in Dublin selling fruits and flowers, even to the Irish Army. So thanks for paying tribute to my cousin Ciaran Burke.

I like the Clamcys/Makem version better, but this is a great tune. As for the accuracy of the story - there are questions...

It's a great song and it is a true story too.

"right thinking people" do NOT agree with mass immigration into Europe.

Roddy McCorley was executed in 1800 for his part in the Rebellion of 1798 and this song was written a 100 years later in 1898. Sean South was killed in an attack on the RUC in 1957 and a song about him used the Roddy McCorley melody. So it’s really the opposite of what you say.

You're pure blooded if you have six fingers. Didn't you know? That's why we're the dominant race.

a great song - but only very few times i dont think The Dubliners make the best version of a song, but i prefer The Kingston Trios version
