While you are entitled to your own opinion, these are just my thoughts. The guitar being loud compared to the vocals is more so a mixing problem, not the problem of the actual song content. I also feel too many song covers try too hard replicate the original, and I personally like the liberties that DEP took here. Another good example of this is Nevermore's a sound of silence cover. Not to mention, music is subjective, and the words used made it seem like you said it was definitively bad.

i like dep, but this is not a good cover... or a good song anyway.... guitar too loud over lyrics, and plus you cant hardly hear one thing from the other... anyways, its not really even paranoid just a mew song imo...
