Wow, this a darn good track. I remember it being popular in the states but I hadn't heard it since 1993. I'm surprised at just how original it still sounds.

The latent 'Flock of Seagulls hair effect " was in full bore but it doesn't deduct from the sonic value of this creative and well crafted composition. It is a really good song- one of my fav Jesus Jones numbers

This song was written as a reaction to the retro trend in pop culture in the early 90's. There was a lot of stuff around venerating the 60's and 70's and Mike Edwards hated it, he said Lenny Kravitz was the enemy.

Still love JJ, and remember when this video was first shown on The Chart Show. Everyone who saw it just went "Woah!" and took a step backwards for a breath. It was the moment they turned into Depeche Mode, and Mike Edwards went from indie boy to rock star...but sadly, that's not what their audience wanted...

a great topical song that is as such that I don't think the video gave it justice-- the director is misdirected to depict it as pro-perverted "rights"-- when what could be appropriate for the song is a depiction of all the global ills, brutality, immorality, violence, injustice, tragedies-- all things that will make one say, "Yes Virginia, there is the Devil alright".
