The Charlie Bron in this song is the antithesis of the Peanuts character. In the song he's a smoker, a clown, a vandal, a goof. The Peanuts character was meek, well behaved and courteous. The only thing remotely similar between the two is the line "Why's everybody always pickin' on me?" However, the song Charlie Brown is feigning innocence while the Peanuts Charlie Brown really sees himself as a loser.
