LYRICS

Lonely faces all along the way

Broken city all dressed up in gray

In the rain outside the restaurant

I make money but I still feel broke

I start drinking and I want a smoke

Doing doughnuts in the parking lot

Driving fast moving cars and drinking

Old in these bars and thinking I could

Paint all those stars

Empty bottles on an empty stage

End of story on the final page

Of a book that no one knows about

This is it this is my last goodbye

This is where my dreams go to die

In the trash behind the record shop

I'm driving fast moving cars and drinking

Old in these bars and thinking I could

Paint all those stars

Singing old timey songs and thinking I could

Right all these wrongs and drinking 'til the

Pain is all gone

After all this time I still believe

With a few tricks hidden up my sleeve

In the sun way down in Mexico

I agree with Maddie,,, This band should get some recognition. I'm a Florida transplant from western PA and recently I got to see the Clarks play a street concert while visiting home. Ironically it was in Mercer PA home town of Nine Inch Nails lead, Trent Reznor... If someone from the little town of Mercer PA can make it big the Clarks from Pittsburgh have a chance.. Hopefully they stick it out until they do. BTW, anyone out there ever hear of "The EarthQuakers"?.. Another western PA band from a small town. .

Good question Maddie. I am from western PA but living in northeastern PA and they don't play the Clarks on the radio here. That is my favorite thing about going home. I even created a Slacker Radio station just for them. I've met them a few times, but most of western PA probably can say that too.
