He means that the older punk bands will never die, like the 80's hardcore punk bands for example. However, that makes no sense because there are still plenty of newer punk bands who have the same style of music.

@Godisinmyface You are right, the progression of the sound has hit a bit of a standstill. Most genres seem to have a certain "slump", if you will, a time where most bands tend to try and imitate a certain sound or image that has reached a point where it has trouble evolving further. It has happened to almost every genre i can think of, not to say that there hasnt been any progression since. Thats just my opinion. I will admit, tho, the whole "core" scene's initial glory was short-lived at best.
