That's a nice sentiment, but I think they have a few clunkers. Not this one! But "Looking For Love" is just terrible, and "I Refuse" is almost bad, except the lyrics are great. I used to despise "Victim of Love", but the chords are cool. Some people hate "I'm In Touch With Your World", but it grew on me. I'm not at all fond of "Strap Me In", but too many other people like it. "Go Away" is a rare case of mediocre lyrics, but a nice hummable tune. I guess almost none of them *completely* suck....

>The worst Cars song! - No way . . . First of all, this song is a gem. Secondly, even if you don't like this song, you HAVE to admit "Looking For Love" is far worse, an inexcusable piece of shit.

Slance1, you KNOW you upload good stuff, right? Thank you for having both versions of this, AND both versions of "Leave Or Stay". It's fun to listen to each song back to back, and notice all the little differences between 1977 and 1987. For example, the line "I wanna hold your hand" became "it's getting out of hand". They're great songs, though some idiots say their age, alone, makes them bad songs. Which makes no sense, because almost nobody had ever heard the old demos when DTD came out.

@focs71 Too be honest with you, I don't think the Cars have a worst song. All their songs are great ;)

Slance! Thank you for posting this, I bought the cassette back in '87 and had to buy it again in ''89 from playing it so much. I appreciate you putting this on the net!

Hard to believe The Cars first wrote and performed this in 1977 and it was slated to appear on their first album.

What, the demo? Why golly gosh yes it is! I DID upload it, along with the demo of "leave or stay" from 1977 as well! :)

Hadn't heard this version, only the demo from '77 -- which is less produced and sounds better. Wonder if it's on YT...

Wow, massive disappointment. Short, weird even for the cars I think, and ta ta wayo wayo sounds like they were running out of ideas or just rushing.
