Heard this often late 1987 early 1988 on one radio station on my way to work or while at work. The place made lazers for the army but is now a green company. I am surprised the building still occupied.Have never heard this song again until I was in QFC supermarket about 10 years ago which helped me remember this song and then seek it out.

Sad this wasn't a hit. Romantic and smooth. As to Door to Door the album, Ric has said for years that him producing it himself was a huge mistake because there was no one there to tell him if something didn't sound good. Also, the industry was starting to change and the sound of the Cars was on the way out for the younger generation of the time. I also think Double Trouble and Strap me in confused some fans because of their hard edge.

One of the best songs from Door to Door. Back in '87 I felt that this is a highly under-rated and unappreciated album, and I still think so to this day. There were personal conflicts within the band of course, but I think the unpopularity of Door to Door is what really caused The Cars' breakup

Continued--- No matter what. Door to Door does not undermine The Cars. It was a fitting farewell to a culture that was becoming bland and sterile. There will never be another Wave like that which was The 80's. Because no other generation can boast that they saw the Coexistence of Stadium Rock, Punk, New Wave, Rap, Hair Bands, Boy Bands, Girl Groups, Ambient, Goth, Industrial, Synth Bands, Bubble Gum, Adult Contemporary, Top 40, Techno, Disco, Electronic, Folk, Spoken Word..the list goes on a

Door to Door was their final album of the 80's and the last with Ben. I can understand those who feel it blasphemous that the sound echoed more drum machines, but The Cars really were a New Wave Band. So for myself this album became their Swan Song for the lyrical content had reached a level of sadness that can still ring true today. The acoustics were amazing. And it had far reaching subliminal keys. Fine Line will always be my top favorite by them. The Cars created music that is Timeless no m

Good song and an ok album but as far as the Car's 'sound' goes, this is blasphemy. Tingy ting ting.

Wasn't this a single off the album? And if so, why wasn't this a hit?

I heard this song on my drive to work 25 years ago in late 1987 early 1988. I still like this song. It was a great time for music and to get a entry level job but it is unreal how long ago that time was. The place I worked at is now in the process of becoming a green energy company. I make an effort to drive by that building when I visit my hometown. I want to visit that place when I hear this song.

Really cutting it short, jealous Ric... more like ALL of the songs. Moves Like This is rubbage!

Ben Orr was the glue of the Cars. Without him, they are a mere whisper of once was. Ric Ocasek has his skill, but it is limited now that it's no longer paired with Benny's out of this world talent. Listening to The Lace only reaffirmed this belief for me. Also @suisuimat couldn't agree with you more

God really outdid himself when he created Ben. How could one have been that gorgeous, nice and talented?!! Sexiness just oozed from his pores. More than anything though, Ben was an incredibly humble sweet guy. I know how much we all miss him, think God just wanted his angel back. RIP Ben.

Ok, I must correct myself, "Moving in Stereo" is not playing. BOOOO! I just watched it on the net, and they replaced The Cars with some crap generic song. Sorry, I was probably selectively remembering because I wanted The Cars to be playing.

@caseygeo I know what you mean. The funny thing is, you had no way of knowing a year ago when you posted this that there would be a commercial for JCPenny (saw it during Monday Night Football last week) with the CEO saying he would give the guys something to look at while he split screen with mens clothes on sale, They showed the scene you speak of with "Moving in Stereo" playing HAHAHA

This song is very good. Benjamin sounds Angelic. This song reminds me of his music on "The Lace" album. It's too bad they didn't get to play all of their individual things on tour with each other. Benjamin Orr is One-Of-A-Kind. Miss You Benjamin Orr-
