My mother sang this song to my brother when she was a single mom in 1947.. when I had my son.. in 1979 she taught it to me.. I didn't know if it was something she had made up or it was an actual song.. I sang it to my son Every night as his bedtime lullaby until he was almost 5 yrs old.. he is 35 now.. so happy to have found this song now .. it will always have a special place in my heart.. every mom with a little boy needs to sing this to them at night.. every night.. :)
