Loved the Rats from their early days through to when they split. It may well have been uncool to follow the Rats in their later years but, their tours were always sold out!!12 years ago

Drag me Down reached 50 in 1984 in the UK. Good video (elsewhere on You Tube) but times had changed and despite being one of their better later tracks, liking the Rats after 1981 was uncool in the UK. This was from their Spring 1985 tour.13 years ago

I think I saw this first at The Lyceum Theatre in Sheffield with fledgeling 'The Alarm' as support. I honestly think The Alarm were better on the night. Big guitar, drums and vocals and an immediate star quality. The Rats seemed to be field trialling mostly new and 'brass heavy' tracks and me and my mate thought The Rats were a Brighouse and Rastrict Brass Band tribute act in comparison. The Rats early stuff was the best, mind.13 years ago
