The Blasters perform "American Music" live at the Farm Aid concert in Champaign, Illinois on September 22, 1985. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

Growing up in L.A. in the 70's, 80's, 90's I got to see these guys a few times. Oddest thing was in 1995 I was in Santiago, Chile, walking back to my hotel with a few friends, and we suddenly hear this song blasting out of a doorway. Needless to say we 'turned and doubled back" and had a few drinks at a cool little club playing not-too-popular stuff like the Blasters.
