damn, in my 20's i rocked this tune on vinyl. just drinking and feeling free as a 22 yr old should. i could get away with drinking all night and not hung over the next day. now it takes too long.

I believe that it was 1979 when Jonathon Cain joined Journey Giovanni Joseph......so you are correct, it has been about 35 years. At the time Greg Rolie was tired of the road life between Journey and Santana and wanted to spend more time with his family. That created a great opportunity for Jonathon to fill the void. Over the years Journey has had some great frontmen but I am more partial to Steve Perry, and Infinity is still my all time favorite Journey album.

In 1978 I got to see Journey in Tampa on their Infinity tour in which they were debuting new singer Steve Perry. They were the headliner of course with Ronnie Montrose, and the opening act on their first major tour, was Van Halen. Drummer Steve Smith was playing with Montrose at the time and ended up replacing Journey's drummer Ansley Dunbar. on Journey's next tour I got to see them in St Pete and the Baby's were touring with them. By the end of the tour Jonathon Cain became the keyboard player for Journey and the rest is history.
