From their 1972 album, Waterbeds In Trinidad ! Issued only months before bass player, Brian Cole's death. Although the Association would go onto record three more albums featuring cover songs of older standards, 'Waterbeds' is currently their last original album.

Vocals Arranged by Clark Burroughs

Instruments Arranged by Benny Golson

possible personnel -

Larry Ramos - lead vocals

Jim Yester, Brian Cole, Terry Kirkman, Richard Thompson, Ted Bluechel, Jr., Jules Alexander - backing vocals

Dennis Budimer, Larry Carlton, Dean Parks, Artie Wayne - guitars (there sounds to be three on this)

Wilton Felder - bass

John Guerin - drums

Milt Holland - percussion

Lincoln Mayorga, Michael Melvoin, Don Randi - keyboards

Also keyboardist, Clare Fischer, is given a special thanks on the back of this album, so I'm not sure if he's on this cut or even on the album, since the above personnel given is all that has been released.

Beautiful song and great group, not only very excellent vocalists but very good instrumentists. One of my favorite US pop rock groups with The Beach Boys,The Harpers Bizarre,The Lovin' Spoonful,The Free Design and The Millennium's Curt Boettcher. And yes, very underrated group. They were so good musicians.

I first heard this and cheered, "YES! New Jayhawks album!!!" Turns out Mark Olson was in grade school when this was recorded. It's beautiful and timeless, whereas I had been under the mistaken notion that the Association specialized only in the former.

The best vocal harmonies of any group since the 60's. Love this song. These guys were very underrated I wish I could find a recording of a song they performed live called, "Backseat of Heaven". Anybody?
