I dig the Andrew Sisters. Mom took us to a retro theater before I was 12 and I saw one of their war-related films and thought they were the best part. Later in years I bought a cassette & loved singing along to this and Bei Mir Bist Du Shon. Their harmonies were fantastic. Wikipedia cites that they sold over 75 million records, and that was a 70s accounting. I've known of some Andrew Sisters tribute bands, and they've had a big influence since the 40s.
