The Late, Great Terry McMillan, playing "Soul Surfin'" from the 1997, "Somebody's Comin'" album. Terry influenced me probably more than any other harmonica player. He was my favorite. The videos here on YouTube don't do him justice. I posted this song to share another side of his playing besides country style. I always loved this tune. Enjoy!

No doubt about the Lee Oskar, War influence. Terry can play like other people , but nobody plays like Terry McM.

I don't have any footage of him, but more videos of him have been popping up on YouTube recently.

Very true, Jake. He had an amazing sound - he was one of my favorites, and probably my biggest influence.

Meet Terry @ The Grapvine Opry. Never seen an entertainer put as much in there work as Terry.

There aren't a lot of videos of Terry. I was lucky to find the first one, and then I found "Amazing Grace", which I liked a lot. Do you have more songs to share?

Totally agree with Joch230, "Low Rider" was first thing to pop up in my mind too! Same rythmic beat, even the harp has a similar progression. I like the effects on the harp

Thanks for posting this Todd. Terry McMillan is definately one of the greatest and will reamain so. I have seen him somewhere here on Youtube play the harp and in mid swing turn it around and continue playing it as if it was just a normal thing to do - he knew the harp inside out and upside down. I hope you had a real nice holiday season and wishing you a successful 2011. Nice to have met you at SPAH. P.S. This does have a WAR sound to it but it is all Terry.

@joch230 - Yes, it does have a sound that reminds me of Lee Oskar's music.
