I know you were asking Tony, but I personally never really got to hear WTMJ directly, just a relay on a local station, and this was the only version I ever heard. That's not to say that they DIDN'T ever play the pennant-drive version, I just never heard it. Still haven't, in fact. Would like to hear it sometime. Sounds interesting.

Sorry, just saw your comment now -- after 3 months! WTH!? Anyways, this was recorded in 1981. As far as I'm aware, Cashman made numerous versions of the song to coincide with each respective team (not necessarily ALL the teams, but many). Whether they were all released simultaneously or not, I do not know. I am also unaware of any album. As far as I know, these were all released as singles. I could very well be wrong, and I appreciate any corrections anybody may have on this matter.

Terry: re the Talking Baseball Brewers all the way.....do you recall WTMJ airing an '82 pennant-drive version done by Cashman?...I recall Jonathan Green playing it on his afternoon show. It was better than the one on YouTube.

Terry re-wrote the lyrics for the '82 Brewers (Brouhard was mentioned in that one) during the pennant drive .... which made the record worth about a pound of platinum. You never hear that version.

What year/album did the Milwaukee Brewers' version come off of?; I'm not a Brewers fan... I'm asking for a friend of mine who's a die-hard fan & he can't find the answer & I told him I would try & help him out.

I am on board with everyone else. I was 12 in 1982 and recorded this off the radio by putting my old cassette deck next to the radio. I listened to that tape so many times I still know it by heart. I have been looking for this for a long time too...that tape died a long time ago...this was a perfect end to a nostalgic year all around. Go Brewers...Spring Training is here!!

@bjc952 Much obliged! It was fun to make, and the Brewers version of this song has been 'lost' for too long. It's very appropriate right now, as they're so friggin' HOT and headed to win the World Series again!
