Amazing recording. Beniamino is the greatest singer without any doubt. Björling is also remarkable but he is simply the smoothest and most sweet singer ever. Only Caruso in his river of tone can rival him. Lauri Volpi is studied with the same teacher and had that same lipid quality but Gigli trusts the music so much....it just works. What a master!

Strange, 1951 the Ave Maria was sung increasingly, which is on the Caruso film back to lead. M.L. sings it as well ( for my person once, a matter of taste )
