Temperance Seven - You're driving me crazy 1973

(1961 #1 in UK)

(Instrumental

You left me sad and lonely

Why did you leave me lonely

'Cause here's a heart that's only for

Nobody but you

I'm burning like a flame dear

I'll never be the same dear

I'll always place the blame dear

On nobody but you

You, you're driving me crazy

What did I do

Oh what did I do

My tears for you make everything hazy

Clouding the skies of blue

........

You, you're driving me crazy

What did I do to you

(Instrumental

Entertaining, but the original 1961 band was much better.I still have several original 45 rpm recordings.

Tower of Power

You Drive Me Crazy najväčší hit skupiny Temperance Seven, ktorý bol v UK rebríčku 16 týždňov od 30. marca 1961 a ako 118. hit dňa 25. mája 1961 nahradil na vrchole rebríčka pieseň On The Rebound od Floyda Cramera. Bola to cover verzia skladby autora Waltera Donaldsona zo show Smiles z roku 1930 v ktorej ju spievali Edie FoyJr. a Adele Astaire.Producentom piesne bol George Martin, pre ktorého to bol prvý hit č.1 , ktorý nasledovali hity č.1, ktoré produkoval pre Beatles.Po týždni pieseň z vrcholu zosadila skladba Surrender od Elvisa Presleyho and The Jordanaires.

It's nice to see a 'different' line up and format but I think this just goes too far. The original '61 version is much better

The Temperance Seven are great and I like all their various line-ups . I wish I had the whole of this programme on DVD. I read that Ted Wood was the brother of Ronnie Wood from The Rolling Stones. Quality!

What sort of Temperance seven is this! Is it a tribute or an insult to the original guys who took the pop scene by storm back in the 1960's?

@johnandjosy : "Count" Clifford (de) Bevan played piano in the 1961 line-up. Sousaphone was handled by Martin Fry (a.k.a. Franklin D Paverty).
