"(Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear" is a popular song recorded by Elvis Presley. It was written by Kal Mann and Bernie Lowe and published in 1957 by Gladys Music. Clear melodic roots of this tune can be heard in the many early recordings of Boll Weevil, a traditional blues song.

Elvis IS the Greatest! No matter what people tell me. He is amazing & I just love listening to his music. In fact, I'd rather listen to his music than Justin Bieber's crap. And I am a young Elvis Fan.

On this day in 1957 {September 27th} Elvis Presley performed at a benefit for 'The Elvis Presley Youth Center' at the Fairgrounds in his home town of Tupelo, Mississippi. At the time of the benefit Elvis was on Billboard's Top 100 chart with "(Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear", and the B-side, "Loving You", was also on the Top 100. "Teddy Bear" had reached #1 and stayed in the top spot for 7 weeks; one month later in October "Jailhouse Rock" entered the Top 100 & it would become #1, also for 7 weeks.
