If I recall correctly (and I may not), there is reference to the idea of the anima in this song, the 'female' part of the male unconscious; the line 'somebody somewhere is trying to breathe, well you know what I mean' refers to the suppression of the anima. Woman are suppressed and killed for nothing, gay or otherwise special individuals are hanged for their sexuality, bombs are strapped to children running into public buildings and somewhere in the world a small sovereign nation is once again bombed by a capitalist superpower.
