Must I add. My nan was the Kaia for this song when it first came to Pakipaki School. My nan is Nanny Jane Wainohu (née Timu), but may be known by some as Heni Wainohu. I am one of her Mokos. This song always gives me goosebumps when I hear it and cry as this song was sang to me in 2007 when I graduated Pakipaki School and was given the Dux award. Beautiful song.

Hi Eugene, I have received a video "Te Maroi Te Hokinga Mai - The Return Home" of my Maori friend, who I met during my peace mission at Egypt 1987. He came to visit me in Holland august 1987 and I received this video of him. I have digitilised it from VHS to DVD. If I can help, just mail me at [email protected] thanks for putting this on Youtube. It brings back good memory's of my Maori brother Mike Taankink.

These kids made this waiata famous. Like all Maori songs, so amazing and it brings chills and thrills to your spine. Makes me remember my good friend, Natalie Dunn, who came from Pakipaki and left this life too early! Mauriora!
