This kind of has a Ronnie Dyson sound by the lead vocalists vocals on this great song,and I can picture Ronnie Dyson in the 70's doing a version of this song,but it still would never match Tavares's version.

Well, this song, issued on their debut-album 'Check it Out' was written by D. Lambert and D. Potter who wrote and produced more songs for Tavares later.
