Short excerpts from Tasavallan Presidentti's performances on BBC's Old Grey Whistle Test show in 1973 and 1974. There were interviews in between the clips, so I have removed them here. I have no idea where to find the complete footage.

Missä nää bändit on nykyään, missä pelkällä musiikillisella osaamisella tehtiin vaikutus?

Jukka looks fantastic now, and more together than he had for years. Google some photos recent photos of him, and you'll see a truly happy man with his health restored, and a genuinely peaceful demeanour. I'm very happy for the change in his life, and for his continued work in Christian music, despite osteoarthritis ending his guitar playing.

Anybody who have a video of the Sisters from Porvoo-Borgå in Finland? They had a band 1972-1978 i think! They did lot of Bob Dylan stuff as well too! I knew this guys at that time, Jari Loisa bas. Vesku Onilainen drums. Jouni on the guitar.A girl who was singer but cant remeber her name! They had a same mangager as the fameous finnish band Hurriganes had!

@vandertop Jukka Tolonen is now a born again Christian, and his released a new album. The CD is called "Juudan Leijona" ("Lion of Judah" in English) which is a reference to Jesus Christ in Revelation 5:5. You can hear at least one song from this album here on Youtube, and a live video of another---these are all Jukka's reinterpretations of old Finnish (Lutheran) hymns on piano, and sometimes with accompaniment.

My old vinyl LP of "Lambertland" still had the round sticker with a reviewer's comment saying the band was "like a tidied up version of Traffic..." I remember reading in a 1973 MELODY MAKER issue that when Tasavallan Presidentti played a venue in Scotland, the crowd, used to dancing, all sat on the floor, mesmerised with the musicianship. The article also spoke of saxophonist/flautist Pekka Pöyry wrestling with depression. So sad that his life ended early. Wonderful band!

@chrisart7 I couldn't agree more! I was 16 when I first got into Focus and hardly anyone in the UK had heard of them in the early 70's. I was sorry to hear about Jukka Tolonen's troubles. I was told he injured his hand and only plays piano now.

Where did you get this? Great stuff - in my opinion Lambertland is one of the finest albums EVER made, but you will never see it any top 1000 list even.

I agree, it would be marvellous to see entire clips of these live performances. Tasavallan Presidentti were to Finland what Focus was to the Netherlands and PFM was to Italy: in short, continental European prog rock that gave the Brits a run for their money. I always thought this band had a bit of Zappa/John McLaughlin influence after beginning in more of a Burt Bacharach pop/Cream blues-rock hybrid, if you can imagine!
