It amazes me the life this man has had. The T-Bone Burnett. From vinyl to film, whatever this man touches turns to gold. He started recording and producing roughly the same time I was born, but I didn't start following his career until the mid 80s, and this was the first album of his that I bought for myself. Proof Through The Night. I still find Hefner & Disney disturbingly haunting, but this song is one that I'm surprised never found its way in regular rotation for "adult contemporary" radio stations. It's got just the right hook, but perhaps the verses are a bit too dark for mainstream success.

Guitars are on this song are by The Who's Pete Townshend. This album -- Proof Through the Night -- has many guests playing on songs. Ry Cooder, Mick Ronson, Steve Soles, Richard Thompson and Pete. T Bone Burnett had already amassed quite an envious group of great talent for his work. This is an incredible album.

I wish someone would put Stunned on here. Or, this whole album. One of the best albums ever

Glad you all like it! :)I've liked T-Bone Burnett as a producer since forever, but only in recent years did I discover his musicianship. And what lyrics!
