It is a business and they have to make a living...that said I think their music always reflects their heart much more than their "wallet"...I think their heart shows clearly not only in their music but in the way they treat people. Switchfoot's & Jon's songs like Mercy's War, White as Snow, In Love, The House of God Forever are just beautiful. I also love SF's Hawaii 5-0 song Out of Control. It really rocks & the lyrics sound like Simon Peter's pov.They R a true blessing & I think the Real Deal.

@Nkieffer000 he's gotten a lot better, this is kind of old. honestly, now he sings live better than he does in the studio. there's something about his live singing that's just incredible.

@Dman761 What's the situation where it would be "the other way around"? I mean that switchfoot, from what I've heard, and I've heard almost all of there albums, have heart to their songs. I understand that they are signed to a record label, and they make money through their music, but they do not make music to make money (possibly to some extent, but that's not the main reason). I like it that they put a piece of themselves in every song they make, and don't churn them out because it's a job
