For me the argument is very similar in nature to the ridiculous idea of seperation of church and state - a church being a group of people who, as the case in point, are Christians. The idea of seperation seems to indicate that Christianity is just a philosophy that people can pick up or put down when necessary or convenient - when it is in reality an entire lifestyle. Christianity, to me, is the fundamental driver of who and what I am. Everything I say and do should reflect Christ. :)

Well said. I am an artist and I don't like to call my art "Christian art". One picture will be about an event in the bible, another will just be a funny cartoon. Art is art and God gives us the choice on what we do with it. Switchoot just happens to sing about the Lord and that redemption is freely available to all, which is the highest use for any gift (to communicate truth).

Ahh, the debate over "is this band Christian" rages on and on. The truth is simple. Many artists, Christian and not, have mastered the art of ambiguity. Everyone can hear what he or she wants in their songs. Being good at this can mean lots of money for a band.
