I've been thinking. Everyone keeps saying that he's flat. I can't help but think that is a conscious decision on his part. I feel like that off-ness to his tone just accentuates his descent into insanity. Especially on that last "Goodbye". Gives me shivers. :)

This is a little maddening to listen to. Sweeney goes flat nearly every time he sings the name "Johanna". Also, the hag's singing is definitely not frenetic enough.

Has ANYBODY here heard Dennis Quilley's Todd? is anyone interested? If so, perhaps I should remedy that, as it really is something to behold

I enjoy much of what Tim Burton and Johnny Depp do, but their Sweeney Todd was seriously lacking compared to the original.

Ok. I'm envious with regards to my brother. He's been available for a long time. By some luck, he's got a model to love him in no time. Just how is that actually manageable? He explained to me he used the Cupid Love System (Google it!) I wish someone lovely told me they loved me... I don't remember ever seeing him so fulfilled. Sort of makes me frustrated.

Cockney is a lower class thing. It was shunned.

"And though I'll think of you, I guess, until the day I die..." What, a whole day? How will he manage?

I prefer the 2005 revival's tempo. Also, I prefer a more open Ah sound on "Johanna".

Why do some of you think the beggar woman "fails?" I heard the panic and urgency in her voice. That's her character.

The beggar woman sounded much better in the version with George Hearn, personally.
