my interpretation of their name is progression and change... like, yehknow "becoming a swan"... (I assume others think this too) So when I first started listening to them, I assumed right away that they would constantly shift and change their music. This isn't a bad thing at all, in fact it is the main reason that I listen to Michael Gira's music. I like to be surprised and astounded every time...and I am.

these "wall-of-sound,/huge build up " bands have been around for a long time anyway....so even the swans are far from truly original...kudos for trying though
